The Press Ombudsman has decided that the Leitrim Observer took action which was sufficient to resolve a complaint where it was found that the newspaper had breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy) and Principle 2 (Distinguishing fact and Comment) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.

The Press Ombudsman has decided that The Irish Times took sufficient remedial action to resolve a complaint made by Ryanair under Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy) and Principle 2 (Distinguishing Fact and Comment) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.

Trust in Irish media remains high (71%) according to Reuters Institute Annual Digital News Report launched today. Trust in individual titles is holding up though newspapers as source of news continues to decline.
